Krispy Kreme Doughnuts versus Go Nuts Donuts
EDIT- Updates on Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Philippines (read my review on Krispy Kreme here and I was there during the Opening Day of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in Manila)

Homegrown Go Nuts Donuts in The Fort, Global City is always full of schoolchildren out on a field trip. The reason for the fieldtrip is because the kids can see for themselves on how a doughnut is made. Go Nuts have glass panels where customers can easily view the doughnut making process. My daughter was mortified to know that doughnuts deep fried. Oh yes, so much fat. Whenever we buy doughnuts, we make sure it’s only done once a month. So much empty calories! True, the process of making doughnuts is truly fascinating. It’s a way to promote their products.

Now what about Krispy Kreme doughnuts (doughnuts and coffee since 1937)? Will they have an innovative promotional campaign? Will they show the manufacturing process on how Krispy Kreme is made? Better yet, is Krispy Kreme as delicious as Gonuts , Cello’s Doughnuts or even better? I heard that Krispy Kreme Philippines is launching on November 30 in City Center, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City . I have yet to taste Krispy Kreme version in the Philippines. My daughters and I tasted Krispy Kreme doughnuts whenever we vacationed in the US. How they loved it. It’s the younger crowd who enjoy doughnuts. Not oldies like us who are concsious of our blood sugar and cholesterol. of course we love to eat them but at the back of our minds, we know it is a sinful desset. Though Go Nuts also sells low fat low sugar doughnut, it is still unhealthy to eat in large amounts.
I read in inq7.net “Scream for Krispy Kreme”
A few weeks before store opening, Krispy Kreme is going to give away 100,000 doughnuts to various offices. Fuentebella explains that this is how the firm does its marketing — by letting the consumers actually taste the doughnuts, confident that after the first bite, they will ask for more.
The marketing scheme relies purely on word of mouth — or on how people will talk about the wonderful taste of the doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme Philippines should really target the young market as they can still burn the calories. Schools are better avenues to channel the give away dougnhnuts.
Let’s see what the younger crowd says onKrispy Kreme when it finally launches in the Philippines on November 30. I bet my daughters will be the first to queue during the Krispy Kreme Launch or Opening Day.

Go Nuts Donuts was inspired by Krispy Kreme idea.
